Beberapa Mode pada Kamera DSLR

Setiap kamera punya istilah masing – masing untuk pengaturan mode. Berikut dijelaskan untuk beberapa tipe kamera saja.

Spoiler for Nikon D70:

Pada kamera Nikon D70 terdapat 11 mode pemotretan:

M= Full Manual
Pada mode ini pengaturan kamera sepenuhnya manual, baik shutter speed, aperture, ISO, dsb.

A= Aperture Priority
Pada mode ini aperture dapat diatur sesuai dengan kehendak, namun shutter speed akan mengimbangi secara otomatis akan kebutuhan cahaya sesuai dengan besar aperture.

S= Shutter Priority
Pada mode ini shutter speed dapat diatur sesuai dengan kehendak, namun aperture akan mengimbangi secara otomatis kebutuhan cahaya yang sesuai dengan shutter speed.

P= Program
Pada mode ini baik aperture maupun shutter speed akan mengkalkulasi secara otomatis sesuai dengan kebutuhan cahaya, hanya saja pada mode ini tingkat exposure dapat diatur sesuai dengan kehendak.

Auto
Mode auto merupakan mode dimana kamera secara penuh mengatur akan segala kebutuhan pengaturan, dengan kata lain pada mode ini fotografer tinggal “jepret” saja.

Portrait
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan portrait ( foto manusia ), seperti penggunaan tonal warna untuk skin tone, dsb.

Landscape
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan foto pemandangan ( landscape), seperti tone warna yang lebih vivid atau lain sebagainya.

Macro
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan foto macro ( jarak dekat sehingga objek tampak lebih besar ), seperti fokus lensa yang lebih disesuaikan.

Moving Object
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pemotretan objek yang bergerak, sehingga fokus lensa akan lebih cepat bergerak menyesuaikan dengan pergerakan objek.

Night Landscape
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan foto pemandangan pada malam hari.

Night Portrait
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan foto portrait malam hari atau cahaya redup.

Pada kamera Canon 350D terdapat 12 mode pemotretan:

A-DEP= Automatic Depth of Field
Pada mode ini, pengaturan fokus foreground dan background diatur secara otomatis oleh kamera sehingga lebih memungkinkan untuk menghasilkan foto yang tajam baik pada foreground maupun background.

M= Full Manual
Pada mode ini pengaturan kamera sepenuhnya manual, baik shutter speed, aperture, ISO, dsb.

Av= Aperture Value Priority
Pada mode ini aperture dapat diatur sesuai dengan kehendak, namun shutter speed akan mengimbangi secara otomatis akan kebutuhan cahaya sesuai dengan besar aperture.

Tv= Time Value Priority
Pada mode ini shutter speed dapat diatur sesuai dengan kehendak, namun aperture akan mengimbangi secara otomatis kebutuhan cahaya yang sesuai dengan shutter speed.

P= Program
Pada mode ini baik aperture maupun shutter speed akan mengkalkulasi secara otomatis sesuai dengan kebutuhan cahaya, hanya saja pada mode ini tingkat exposure dapat diatur sesuai dengan kehendak.

Auto
Mode auto merupakan mode dimana kamera secara penuh mengatur akan segala kebutuhan pengaturan, dengan kata lain pada mode ini fotografer tinggal “jepret” saja.

Portrait
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan portrait ( foto manusia ), seperti penggunaan tonal warna untuk skin tone, dsb.

Landscape
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan foto pemandangan ( landscape), seperti tone warna yang lebih vivid atau lain sebagainya.

Macro
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan foto macro ( jarak dekat sehingga objek tampak lebih besar ), seperti fokus lensa yang lebih disesuaikan.

Moving Object
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pemotretan objek yang bergerak, sehingga fokus lensa akan lebih cepat bergerak menyesuaikan dengan pergerakan objek.

Night Scene
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan foto pada malam hari.

No Flash
Mode ini merupakan pencabangan mode full auto, namun apabila pada mode auto lainnya built in flash akan otomatis pop up apabila cahaya dirasa kurang, pada mode ini built in flash tidak akan menyala sama sekali, sehingga shutter speed dan aperture akan lebih berperan untuk mengimbangi kebutuhan cahaya.

Pengaturan cahaya

Setiap kamera memiliki light meter yang berfungsi mendeteksi intensitas cahaya. Sebelum menekan tombol shutter, apabila menggunakan kamera pada mode manual ada baiknya memperhatikan exposure meter terlebih dahulu.
Berikut gambar exposure indicator:

Tampak pada gambar di atas bar yang mengindikasikan exposure. Apabila ingin menghasilkan foto dengan cahaya yang baik, letakan bar pada posisi tengah ( normal exposure ), namun apabila menghasilkan foto yang lebih terang, geser bar ke arah tanda + ( menjadi over exposure ), dan sebaliknya, untuk hasil foto yang lebih gelap geser bar ke arah – ( menjadi under exposure )
